I've heard the
question, "What is deeksha (Oneness Blessing)?" asked many times by
many people, so I've compiled, edited and condensed the answers
that I've heard from several Oneness University dasas into the
following explanation.

What is Deeksha
(Oneness Blessing)?

Simply put, deeksha (Sri Amma Bhagavan's
Oneness Blessing) is a very powerful catalyst for the awakening of
human consciousness.
It's a process of transferring Divine Grace
which brings about a neuro-biological change in the brain, thus
effecting a shift in human consciousness.
AmmaBhagavan maintain that the brain is the
center of all the experiences we have in our lives, and depending
upon how the brain centers are activated or deactivated, it effects
not only the quality of our experience of life, but our state of
consciousness as well.
It doesn't matter what your intellectual
understanding or spiritual wisdom of reality is, unless there is a
change in the physical structure of your brain there isn't going to
be a real shift in your experience of reality. All you will
have is a better understanding of life, but not a better experience
of life.
The deeksha Oneness Blessing frees you from
the interference of the mind, and this "declutching" allows you to
experience life as it actually is. Only when true experience
is added to life is all your learning complete. Otherwise, it
would be like having mere theory without practicals. (more
Oneness Blessing benefits)
On that practical side, EEG readings show
indications that having deeksha increases activity in the
brain's frontal lobes and decreases activity in the parietal
lobes. This is the state that studies have shown to have
been achieved by advanced meditators such as the Dali Lama and
other high lamas, etc.
A Oneness Blessing effects the brain in a
way that enlightenment becomes inevitable. It is an
effortless way to return to your natural state of open
consciousness.
Finally, you are free.

deeksha restructures the body.

Grace."
